Local Japanese Style Restaurant

Delicious Saimin in Waimalu and Ewa Beach Hawaii

Since Shiro’s Saimin Haven opened its doors in 1969 in Aiea our goal was to serve local home-style comfort food at a reasonable price to hardworking people near and far. We now have restaurants in Aiea and Ewa Beach and they are a place where you can relax and enjoy good service; a place where you can forget about all of the stress going on in your busy life. We are known for our extensive saimin menu, boasting 65 different saimin selections. Enjoy noodle creations for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or just a snack. What sets up apart is the fact that we make the majority of our items in house. We also do our best to buy local, supporting Hawaii based products whenever possible.

Besides saimin we also have ono plate lunch offerings at our Aiea / Waimalu and Ewa Beach restaurants. They are local home-style favorites that have Japanese, American, Chinese, Hawaiian, Filipino and Korean influences. It is literally a melting pot type menu. Enjoy comfort foods like local boy stew with lau lau, tender teriyaki chicken, oxtail soup and succulent roast pork with gravy. In fact, try anything with gravy. We make our gravy the old fashioned way. We take all the bits of beef, juices and drippings; add onions, garlic and celery; and braise it for hours until all of the flavors are melded into a caramel wonder. If you come before 12, our breakfast is a must try! Check out our deka boko loko moko, fried rice omelette adobo, and our sweet and savory bacon Belgian waffle.

Don’t want to eat with utensils? Try our sandwich and burgers! We make all of our hamburger patties at the beginning of each shift. Our hula burga is so good that it makes you want to dance the hula after each bite!!

So come on down and visit us at our Aiea Location in Waimalu Shopping Center, or our Ewa Beach Location in Ewa Beach Shopping Center.
